Craft Spot's Annual Report for the 12-13 financial year. This year they chose to focus purely on the use of colours and patterns, emphasizing the use of a hand crafted aesthetic, with these patterns being screenprinted, to then further add to the tactility of the report to its top directors. It then picked out colours from each pattern to have as a section divider, allowing an ease for navigation throughout the report for all readers.
A complete branding for a fictitious clothing company. Astral is an Australian owned, based and run clothing company, that prides itself on its quality and Australian based creations. With a minimalist colour palette of black, white and grey, Astral chooses to focus on patterns, textures and the fit and quality of the clothing. A full stationery set has been created, along with an extensive website, clothing labels and envrionmentally friendly reusable shopping bags.
A publication exploring the history of letterpress, and an essay discovering the effect letterpress had on a certain individuals life. The publication takes inspiration from the original letterpress printed books such as The Gutenberg Bible and Poliphilus. It features a monochrome, traditionally typeset first half, with a contrasting experimental and explorative second half of letterpress experimentations through the use of woodblocks and metal hand set type.
A body typeface designed to be uniform and harmonious, with minimal personality to allow for multiple purposes and uses.
A four layer screen-print based around the idea of cross stitch and hand methods of production - two things I enjoy most. It plays on the idea of the quote 'The Devil's in the Detail' which is hidden in the centre of the print. It has an accompanying booklet showing the 'devil' that comes with the detail, documenting the misprints and process that comes through the method of screen-printing.
A redesign for the Murray Valley Gourmet, Salt Flakes, taking inspiration from early Italian monochrome design, focusing on the use of typography and scale, with minimal embellishments used throughout the design.
A bi-monthly digital publication, intended to be viewed on the iPad, that tackles the issues, ideas and themes around feminism and society.
A modular display typeface designed around a strict grid, with high contrast and slab serifs to complement.
A collaboration with Esperanto Magazine for their Melbourne Issue. There has always been a rivalry between the occupants of Melbourne and Sydney, and as a solid Melbournian, stereotypically beautiful embroidery has been created that juxtaposes with the crude content that has been embroided.
A project working alongside Cristina Re to hand craft beautiful Paper Couture floral arrangements and headpieces for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2013. Cristina Re was asked by The City of Melbourne to style the VIP space at the event, which was themed as a modern day interpretation of High Tea with Marie Antoinette.
A project working along side artist Emily Floyd, creating a series of screen prints commenting on 'The University as a site of Political Potential'. The work comprises of 9 screenprints with images reproduced courtesy of the archive of Ken Mansell. The project was exhibited at The Monash University Museum of Art in 2013, as well as the Nation Gallery of Victoria as a part of the Melbourne Now exhibition 2013-2014.
